Series background & context

The Holliday Sisters series is one of Nicole Falls's warmest setups. At its center are four sisters, Noelle, Valora, Juniper, and Ginger, each born on a different holiday and each eventually getting a book of her own. That premise gives the series an easy identity, but the real draw is the family dynamic. These sisters are close, opinionated, funny, and deeply involved in one another's lives.

Noelle the First opens the series with a Christmas story that is really about rediscovering joy. Noelle shares a birthday with the holiday, but adulthood has dulled her old love for the season. Jay, a childhood friend back in her orbit, decides he wants to help bring some of that spark back. It is a friends-to-lovers romance, but it also works as the introduction to the Holliday family tone, lots of sister interference, lots of affection, and a strong sense that nobody in this family goes through anything alone.

Then Brave Hearts gives Valora a very different path. Her story with Francisco leans into a practical solution that starts to feel a lot more personal. The setup has marriage-of-convenience energy, but Falls keeps it human by focusing on what the friendship already means before romance tries to change the terms.

Started From a Selfie moves to Juniper and gives the series a more modern, playful meet-cute. A missed connection, social media, and a single dad all shape the story, but the book still fits neatly into the same family-first world. Juniper's sharpness and Quincy's steadiness make the romance feel distinct while the sisters keep the shared-series chemistry intact.

The final book, The Illumination of Ginger, turns inward a little more. Ginger is in a season of change and does not want to let go of the ways she has always handled life. That resistance gives her story a slightly more reflective edge, which works well as a closer for the quartet. By then, Falls has let readers spend enough time with the sisters that Ginger's emotional reckoning lands as part of the bigger family arc.

What ties these books together is not just romance, it is sisterhood. The love stories matter, but so do the jokes, the meddling, the check-ins, and the way the women show up for one another. The books are short enough to move quickly and connected enough that reading in order is worth it.

If you want Nicole Falls in a particularly cozy, character-driven mode, the Hollidays are a great pick. The books are festive without being only holiday reads, and the family at the center gives the whole series its heart.
