Myths of Moraigh Books in Order

Myths of Moraigh is Kasey Stockton's Scottish historical trilogy, and it leans fully into the things that make that setting fun to read about: clan loyalties, old grudges, harsh landscapes, and a little local legend woven through the romance.

The books are set in eighteenth-century Scotland, where the McEwans of Moraigh are trying to hold themselves together while trouble presses in from several directions. There is a long-running feud with a rival clan, pressure from outside political forces, and a steady question hanging over the whole series: can peace ever last when pride, grief, and history keep reopening the wound?

That larger conflict runs underneath all three books, but each novel focuses on a different couple.

In Journey to Bongary Spring, Isobel McEwan slips away in hopes of curing her lovesick heart before an arranged marriage, only to find herself pursued by the very man she is trying to forget. Through the Fairy Tree shifts to Marion McEwan, whose future is tied to a contest that will choose both her husband and Moraigh's next leader. The Enemy Across the Loch brings the trilogy to a close with Ealann McEwan and Miles Duncan, two people on opposite sides of the feud who meet across the water and slowly build trust where they should not.

The folklore details help give the series its own texture. A healing spring, a fairy tree, and even a selkie misunderstanding all add flavor without taking the story out of its historical footing.

These books work best in order. Each romance stands on its own, but the clan story keeps building from book to book, and the payoffs land better when you have watched the families, alliances, and old hurts evolve from the beginning.
