Series background & context

Bradwell Brothers is a Regency family series built around sibling ties, social expectations, and the kind of romantic trouble that starts small and then snowballs in public.

The world feels classic Stockton. There are ballrooms, house parties, secrets, misunderstandings, and characters who would all be happier if they said what they meant a little sooner. But the real hook is the Bradwell family itself. Each book shifts the focus to a different member of the wider circle, so the series has that pleasant sense of returning to people you already know.

The optional starting point is Properly Kissed, a prequel novella that sets up the tone with childhood affection, duty, and a looming engagement. From there the main books move through three Bradwell brothers and the women who unsettle their careful plans.

Sensibly Wed begins with a reputation-saving marriage that goes badly sideways when Felicity learns she is engaged to the wrong Bradwell brother. Pleasantly Pursued turns an old rivalry into a road-trip style Regency romance when Thea and Benedict are forced into close quarters. Honorably Engaged brings in a hidden identity, a bargain, and a fake courtship when Marianne is the one person who knows Henry's secret.

What ties the books together is not one giant plot, but a shared family atmosphere. Brothers interfere, mothers hope for the best, old feelings linger, and private choices quickly become public business.

If you like clean Regency romance with banter, emotional tension, and a strong family thread, this is one of Stockton's easiest series to settle into. The books can stand alone, but reading in order lets the sibling dynamic do its best work.
