Ladies of Devon is one of Kasey Stockton's most fully built Regency worlds. The series begins with four women in Devon who form a literary society and a real friendship, then follows each of them into her own romance.

That friendship matters. Even when a book is centered on one couple, the others still shape the story, and the result feels warmer and more grounded than a string of unrelated romances. The Recluse of Wolfeton House turns toward secret painting lessons, seclusion, and slow-blooming affection between Hattie Green and a duke who wants to stay hidden from society.

Then The Smuggler of Camden Cove jumps forward in time and follows Pippa Sheffield, now grown, as she collides with a man tied to the smuggling trade. That last book widens the world while still feeling connected to everything that came before.

Across the series, Stockton mixes romance with a little mystery, social pressure, and the practical concerns of everyday life. The tone stays gentle, but there is enough jeopardy, rumor, and emotional messiness to keep the books moving.
