Montford Heirs/Lost Heirs Books in Order

The Montford Heirs, or Lost Heirs, books are Regency romantic suspense with a strong taste for secrets, disguises, and uncertain identity. The series includes A Stolen Heart, Promise Me Tomorrow, and No Other Love, and all three books circle the same kind of trouble: people whose pasts are hidden, misread, or actively dangerous to uncover.

That gives the series a more adventurous pulse than some of Camp's quieter historical romances. One heroine arrives in London looking exactly like a dead woman and may be the target of a killer. Another has no memory of her early life and survives by moving among thieves. Another crosses paths with a masked highwayman while family power games close in around her. In every case, romance grows inside a mystery.

Trust is never simple here.

The heroes tend to be aristocratic, capable, and suspicious for good reason. The heroines are often outsiders, women with very little security who have to decide whom they can rely on. Camp uses that imbalance well. Attraction comes quickly, but belief takes longer.

If you want a Candace Camp series with more danger in it, this is a smart place to go. The love stories are strong, but the hidden-heir and hidden-past elements give the books their extra momentum. They read like classic Regency romance with a real suspense engine underneath.
