Series background & context

Maplesville is a small Louisiana town, and Rochon uses that setting exactly the way small-town romance fans hope she will. People know each other. They remember your last heartbreak. They have opinions about your next move. Shops, bars, clinics, and family homes are all part of the same social map, which means no one gets to disappear for long.

The books in Moments in Maplesville are shorter romances, but they still feel connected. You meet veterans, widowed single parents, small-business owners, musicians, caterers, salon dreamers, and people circling back to old crushes they never quite got over. A Christmas fling, a food truck renovation, a one-night stand with very bad timing, a homecoming after scandal, all of those setups fit comfortably in this world because Maplesville is built for unexpected reunions and second chances.

Maplesville is the kind of town where everybody knows your business, and sometimes that helps.

That is part of the charm. The town can feel meddlesome, but it also feels supportive. Characters are usually carrying something into the story, grief, money trouble, burnout, regret, family duty, and the romances often come from being forced to slow down long enough to figure out what they actually want. Rochon keeps the pace brisk, but she still makes room for community texture, which gives the series more warmth than a typical quick read.

The tone leans cozy, sexy, and comforting. These books are about attraction, of course, but also about rebuilding confidence, staying open to joy, and letting a familiar place surprise you. Because they are novellas, they move fast, and that makes them especially easy to binge in order.

If you want to start at the beginning, A Perfect Holiday Fling is the best entry point. From there, the series lets you settle into the town and watch different corners of Maplesville light up, one romance at a time. It is a good fit for readers who want a complete emotional payoff without giving up the pleasure of a connected community world.
