Series background & context

Metropolis is a city series with big shared-cast energy. The setting is a condominium complex full of openly gay tenants, hookups, friendships, drama, and people who are much more involved in one another's lives than they pretend to be. That gives the books a fast, social rhythm.

The romances hit a lot of fun contemporary setups, fake dating in Faking It, unexpected roommates in Working It, age-gap heat in Owning It, wedding chaos in Hitching It, and more. But the series works because the recurring crew keeps it lively. These are books where side characters tease, meddle, celebrate, and occasionally make everything worse before they make it better.

If you want Riley Hart in a lighter, brighter, more openly chaotic mode, Metropolis is a very good pick. It is sexy, funny, and full of men who talk a lot of nonsense right up until they fall in love.
