London Encounters is a two-book Regency romance series set against the social whirl and political unease of early nineteenth-century London. Lancelot Marfleet sees the hurt behind Jessamine's defiance. He is thoughtful, interested in botany, and preparing for a life in the church, which makes him seem like exactly the man Jessamine does not want. Their courtship is less about spies and more about the trouble that begins when someone tries to soothe heartbreak with pride, flirtation, or a new image.

The series has a strong sense of place. London is glamorous, crowded, judgmental, and full of opportunity for a mistake to become public.
