The Lennox Family Magic books are Medeiros's most openly playful blend of romance, fantasy, and time travel. These stories do not pretend magic is a distant rumor. It crashes through the front door, tosses people across centuries, and then asks them to sort out love, identity, and common sense after the damage is done. Even with all that fantasy, the tone stays warm and readable. The books are funny, romantic, and surprisingly grounded in family ties.

Breath of Magic begins with Arian Whitewood, a young Puritan and would-be witch who escapes a witch hunt and lands in modern New York. That is a great fish-out-of-water setup, and Medeiros gets plenty of comedy from it, but the book also gives Arian a real emotional journey. Tristan Lennox, the billionaire who catches her more or less literally, is controlled, skeptical, and badly prepared for someone like Arian blowing through his life. Their romance thrives on contrast, old world innocence colliding with modern cynicism, wonder meeting weariness, and both characters slowly realizing how much they need the very thing they first resist.

Then the magic stays in the family.

Touch of Enchantment follows Tabitha Lennox, Arian and Tristan's daughter. Tabitha is a scientist, which makes her a funny heroine for a magical series because she would very much like the universe to behave itself. Instead, an inherited amulet hurls her seven centuries into the past and straight into the path of Sir Colin of Ravenshaw, a knight with vengeance on his mind. The book reverses some of the first novel's dynamics. Now the modern woman is the outsider, and the past feels less romantic and more immediate, strange, and dangerous. That shift keeps the series from feeling repetitive.

What links the books is the idea that magic is both gift and inconvenience. It opens impossible doors, but it also forces the characters to confront who they are when stripped of every familiar rule. Medeiros uses that well. The time travel gives the stories motion and comedy, yet the emotional stakes stay close to home, family legacy, trust, and whether love can ask you to build a life in a world you never expected to inhabit.

If you want a Medeiros series with more overt fantasy than her historicals, Lennox Family Magic is an easy recommendation. Read Breath of Magic first, then Touch of Enchantment. The mother-daughter link matters, and part of the fun is watching one impossible romance echo into the next.
