These stories are still romances first, but they share a stronger family thread than some of the broader Scottish books. In Some Like It Wicked, Catriona Kincaid drives the action from the first pages. She is not waiting around for rescue. She storms in, strikes a bargain with the roguish Simon Wescott, and sets out to get back to Scotland and find the brother she has lost. Simon is the sort of man who would rather dodge heroism than embrace it, which makes him the perfect headache for a woman as determined as Catriona. Their book has road-trip energy, sharp banter, and the constant sense that both of them are one rash decision away from either disaster or love.

Some Like It Wild turns to Connor Kincaid, whose life has already been shaped by loss, anger, and the long shadow of injustice. Pamela Darby approaches him with a ridiculous plan, impersonate a duke's missing heir, claim the reward, and help save her sister from a desperate future. It is the kind of setup Medeiros can have a lot of fun with, and she does. Under the scheme and the comedy, though, Connor's story still carries the weight of a man who has almost stopped believing he can win anything back. Pamela gives the book its spark. She is resourceful, stubborn, and bold enough to meet him on equal ground.

Taken together, the books show two sides of the same family struggle. Catriona is pushing forward, trying to rebuild. Connor is more guarded, more wounded, and slower to trust that anything good can last. The romances work because the heroes and heroines are not only falling for each other, they are also trying to imagine a future that is larger than survival.

If you want Highland romance with sibling links, schemes, and plenty of movement, the Kincaid books are a good place to start. Read Some Like It Wicked before Some Like It Wild for the cleanest character arc, but both carry the same appeal, spirited heroines, bruised heroes, and Scottish stakes that feel personal as well as romantic.
