Inigo Morgan Books in Order

The Inigo Morgan books take Tim Ellis's crime fiction to the Welsh coast. The series is set around Little Haven in Pembrokeshire and follows DI Inigo Morgan and his colleague DC Tigris Griffiths, usually called Tigger, through cases that are both intimate and disturbing. The opening book, As You Sow, So Shall You Reap, starts with a woman found dead in her cottage, her lips sewn together and her heart missing. That tells you straight away this will not be a gentle village mystery.

What makes the series stand out is the contrast between place and crime. Little Haven and the surrounding area bring in coastline, smaller communities, and a sense that everybody may know part of the story, but nobody knows all of it. Ellis uses that well. The scenery is open, but the emotional world is closed off, full of secrets, old injuries, and things people would rather not drag into daylight.

The books are lean, but not slight.

In The Measure of All Things, the discovery of a male corpse missing major organs points the detectives toward organ trafficking, though the case soon becomes more complicated than that. Tigger's PTSD also matters, which gives the series another layer beyond the investigation itself. These are not detectives who shake off what they see and move on unchanged.

Expect a procedural with strong atmosphere, unpleasant crimes, and a tighter focus than Ellis's biggest ensemble series. Morgan and Tigger are the heart of it. Their work is patient, local, and shaped by the fact that in a smaller place every murder echoes wider than it would in a huge city. If you want dark crime fiction with a coastal Welsh setting and a more concentrated cast, Inigo Morgan is a good fit.
