When Molly sees an obituary saying Karl has died, she rushes home, only to find that the report was wrong.

Their reunion is not simple. Molly has reasons to protect herself, and Karl has spent years holding onto feelings he never said aloud. The story uses their accidental reunion to explore missed timing, trust after a bad marriage, and what it takes to try again when both people have had plenty of time to get set in their ways.

These are interconnected standalones, with a strong sense of place and a growing ensemble of town regulars.
