Series background & context

The Emerald Falls Romance books are set in a small town built for comfort reading. Emerald Falls is the kind of place where people know each other, old connections matter, and a trip to the library, the diner, or a local business can change the course of a story. That warm small-town feeling is the backbone of the series, even when Kersey adds a touch of suspense.

Each book follows a different couple, but the town links them together.

One story centers on Gabriella returning to Emerald Falls and reconnecting with the boy she crushed on as a teenager, now a veterinarian. Another follows Amethyst, a jewelry maker who gets curious about the guarded man next door and discovers he is hiding for a reason. Another gives Melanie, a single mother trying for a fresh start, a very inconvenient chance encounter with a man who finally wants to know her. Another brings in a Christmas fundraiser, a billionaire ex-boyfriend, and a fake engagement that is not as fake as it should be.

That mix tells you what to expect from the series as a whole. These are romances first, but not all of them are purely cozy. Some books keep the tension emotional and domestic. Others bring in secrets, dangerous pasts, or people in hiding. Even then, Emerald Falls stays important. The town is not just scenery. It is the place where people are forced to slow down, face their history, and decide if they are willing to risk being known.

Kersey also uses the interconnected cast well. Sisters, friends, coworkers, and familiar faces from earlier books keep reappearing, which makes the series feel lived in without making each book hard to enter. You can read them individually, but publication order lets the town grow around you.

So if you like clean small-town romance with recurring side characters, a little emotional mess, and the occasional suspense thread, Emerald Falls is a welcoming place to start.
