Series background & context
Ashley's Billionaire is one continuing clean romance told across four books, so this is a series that really does work best in order. It starts with Ashley Spencer, a new college graduate heading toward a fresh start, and Colton Drake, a billionaire who is used to control, privacy, and keeping parts of himself separate from the rest of his life. A snowstorm throws them together before either of them is ready.
The early hook is classic forced proximity. Ashley is stranded, Drake rescues her, and the attraction shows up almost immediately. But the series does not treat that first spark as the whole story. Instead, it asks what happens after the rescue, after the cabin, after the dreamy interruption ends and real life starts pressing in.
That is where the books really live.
Ashley heads to Reno to begin the life she had planned, only to find that Drake is not easy to leave behind. Work, pride, class differences, and poor communication all get their turn causing trouble. Kersey leans into the push and pull between big feelings and everyday reality. Ashley wants independence and self-respect. Drake has to learn that caring about someone is not enough if he still keeps her outside the parts of his life that matter most.
Because the series follows one couple instead of switching leads each book, the emotional pacing is slower and more cumulative than in Kersey's standalone romances. Readers who like extended relationship arcs may enjoy that. You get the attraction, the misunderstandings, the separation, the reunions, and the later-stage questions about commitment all playing out over time.
The tone stays clean and contemporary, with plenty of longing, frustration, and romantic tension but without graphic content. So expect a four-book relationship story about timing, trust, and whether two people from very different worlds can build something that lasts once the fantasy setting is gone.
