Delgado’s Dirty Dozen Books in Order

Delgado’s Dirty Dozen is Donna Kauffman in action-romance mode. The books are built around dangerous men, women who refuse to stay put, and situations that go from tense to intimate very quickly.

The setup across the series is straightforward and effective. Someone needs protection, rescuing, tracking, or extracting, and the person sent to help is usually as combustible as the crisis itself. Dark Knight goes even harder on the capture-and-countercapture energy with an agent and the man she is supposed to take down.

These books move fast. The tone is hotter and more overtly suspenseful than Kauffman's later small-town series, and the heroes are often written as near-mythic bundles of competence and danger.

It is big, pulpy fun.
