Series background & context

This short crossover series brings together two of Patrick Logan's biggest thriller leads, Chase Adams and Damien Drake. If you already know their separate books, the fun here is obvious. You get Chase's focused FBI intensity rubbing up against Drake's bruised, impulsive private-eye style.

That contrast does most of the work.

The cases are built to feel bigger than a normal single-series installment. The body count is high, the geography widens, and the tension comes not just from the villain but from the challenge of getting two very different investigators to pull in the same direction. Chase likes structure. Drake likes results. They are not the same thing.

Because these books sit inside Logan's larger shared world, they also reward readers who enjoy seeing old relationships, ongoing baggage, and past cases echo into something new. Even so, the appeal is simple enough: two capable, damaged people chasing the same danger for different reasons.

Expect pace over polish, pressure over comfort, and plenty of friction. The crossover tag is not just a gimmick. It changes the tone, raises the stakes, and lets Logan play with the strengths and weaknesses of both characters at once.
