Cole Bannen's day gets worse in the way only Bad Priest can manage, vulgar, chaotic, and surprisingly dangerous. Under the dark jokes is another hard shove toward hell.

3

Eight Long Years Ago + Blood Everywhere

The Bad Priest serial keeps moving fast, mixing possession, guilt, and violent fallout in short, nasty bursts. Cole learns that old sins never stay old for long.

4

Feeding Time + Video Evidence

by Patrick Logan

2023

Cole's supernatural headaches meet fresh proof that things are getting bigger and uglier around him. These episodes blend demon trouble with the kind of evidence you wish had never surfaced.

5

Freedom + Just Cigarettes

by Patrick Logan

2023

Cole Bannen, ex-priest and recent ex-con, gets out of prison hoping to stay clean and immediately falls back into fake exorcisms and bad decisions. These first two Bad Priest episodes set the profane, demon-haunted tone.

6

Necrocannibalism + Brothers at Arms

by Patrick Logan

2023

By this point the Bad Priest world is fully off the leash. Cole faces another two-part blast of grotesque horror, foul humor, and problems no priest, good or bad, should have to solve.

7

Radar + Scratch

by Patrick Logan

2023

This paired installment keeps throwing Cole into strange jobs, bad people, and the consequences of letting evil too close. Quick, sharp, and very much not clean fun.

8

Warm Piss + Merzoth

by Patrick Logan

2023

Cole's mess keeps growing as another pair of episodes piles supernatural trouble on top of earthly stupidity. The voice is foul, funny, and much darker than it first looks.

Series background & context

Bad Priest is Patrick Logan in a very different mode. The series follows Cole Bannen, an ex-priest and ex-con who gets out of prison hoping for a reset and instead winds up back in the kind of trouble he should have learned to avoid. Fake exorcisms, bad habits, worse decisions, and then the awful discovery that possession is real after all.

Cole is not a polished holy warrior. He is sarcastic, damaged, profane, and usually a step behind whatever demon or human mess has just exploded in front of him. That rough voice is the whole point. These books lean hard into dark humor, irreverence, and fast episodic chaos.

They also read differently from Logan's standard novels. The early installments are paired episodes, short, sharp, and built like a serial you can tear through in bursts. That gives the series a punchy, cliff-edge rhythm. One disaster leads straight into the next, and Cole barely has time to catch his breath before another poor soul needs help, or another terrible choice comes due.

Under the jokes and bad behavior, though, there is a real story about guilt. Cole is trying, however badly, to do some good with what is left of him. The demon in his orbit only makes that harder. Sometimes the series feels like supernatural noir. Sometimes it feels like a filthy road sermon. Usually it feels like both.

If you like demon stories that are less solemn and more feral, Bad Priest is probably Logan's oddest and funniest corner.
