Cable & Deadpool Books in Order

This is one of Fabian Nicieza's signature runs, and the hook is beautifully simple. Put one of Marvel's grimmest long-game strategists next to one of its loudest chaos machines and make them share a book. Cable wants to build a better future through force, planning, and impossible conviction. Deadpool wants money, attention, and whatever weird detour occurs to him in the next ten seconds.

They should not work together.

That is exactly why they do. The series plays as a superhero action book, a buddy comedy, and sometimes a surprisingly sincere story about two broken men who keep stumbling into loyalty. Cable is always trying to drag the world toward something bigger, often through his island nation of Providence and his larger political ambitions. Deadpool keeps turning those plans sideways, either by accident or because he sees the human absurdity Cable is too serious to notice.

The tension is not only personal. The book moves through mutant politics, global threats, Marvel crossovers, and plenty of villains who can exploit the pair's differences. Some arcs lean harder into humor, some into moral conflict, but the series almost always works because Nicieza understands both voices so well.
