Generation X Books in Order

Generation X is the X-book that leans hardest into teenage instability without giving up the mutant strangeness. Instead of focusing on the main superhero team, it follows a new class of young mutants learning to live with powers, trauma, and each other under the watch of Emma Frost and Banshee.

That combination gives the series its personality.

The cast, Jubilee, Chamber, Husk, Synch, Skin, M, Penance, and others, is awkward, volatile, funny, and often half in love with the wrong people. They are not polished heroes. They are kids with bizarre gifts and even worse timing. That makes the book feel more personal than mission-based, even when the villains are monstrous.

The early series, represented here by Generation X Classic Vol. 1, also has one of the stronger opening hooks in the line. The school setting matters, but it is not cozy. Threats like Emplate turn the whole coming-of-age setup darker and weirder right away.

If you want an X-book where adolescence is not just a side note but the central energy source, Generation X remains one of the best examples.
