Domino is one of those Marvel characters who can slide between team books, spy stories, and pure action without losing her identity. Neena Thurman is a mercenary with a probability-altering luck power, but the luck gimmick only works because her personality is so controlled and so sharp. She walks into impossible situations like she has already run the numbers.

Most of the time, she probably has.

Her stories tend to work best when they remember that Domino is not just cool in a generic way. She is precise, dryly funny, deeply capable, and more emotionally guarded than she likes to admit. That makes her a natural lead for black-ops stories, bounty plots, and missions where the job looks simple until every betrayal starts surfacing at once.

Soldier Of Fortune shows that side of her well. The book plays to her mercenary roots, her willingness to get her hands dirty, and the fact that even someone with absurd luck still has to choose who to trust and what kind of damage is acceptable.

If you like Marvel books with fast combat, covert-mission energy, and a lead who never needs to shout to control the room, Domino is a great character to follow. She brings X-world history with her, but her best stories stand just fine on their own.
