Author bio

Bradley Wright grew up in Kentucky, surrounded by rolling hills, horse farms, and a steady supply of stories.

As a kid he split his time between the ball field and the page. He played every sport he could, then went home and wrote songs, poems, and little scenes for his friends, often performing spot-on impressions from his favorite movies. That mix of competition and imagination never really left.

Baseball took him to Marshall University on a scholarship, where he discovered that crushing home runs came a lot easier than passing higher math. College made it clear that numbers were not his future, but the pull toward storytelling kept getting stronger.

After leaving school he went into the restaurant world, learning how to work long hours, juggle chaos, and listen closely to people. Those late nights paid the bills while he chased a quieter dream, turning the “voices in his head” into characters with full lives and serious problems.

In 2016 he published Whiskey & Roses, the first Xander King novel, and suddenly one of those voices stepped into the spotlight. Readers connected with the idea of a charming businessman who was also a legendary soldier, driven by the murder of his parents and a need for justice that never really cools. That book opened the door to a whole universe of connected stories.

From there Wright expanded outward. The Alexander King series, beginning with The Secret Weapon, shifts the same larger‑than‑life operator into the heart of modern espionage, taking him from London car bombs to high stakes in Washington. With When the Man Comes Around, Wright introduced Lawson Raines, a former FBI star whose life is blown apart by a wrongful conviction, and in Saint Nick he handed the role of Santa Claus to an Army Ranger who uses North Pole magic to hunt terrorists.

More recently he has launched new leads like Tom Walker, a bruised product of a covert government program who has a talent for finding people in trouble, and Adam Burke, a former Air Force special operator cleaning up his agency’s worst mistakes around the globe. Co-writing projects such as the Adam Burke and Uncivil War series with J.D. Dudycha let him blend military thrills with survival horror and family drama.

Across all of these books, certain threads repeat. Wright likes broken heroes who still get back up, conspiracies that reach a little higher than they should, and action scenes that move like a movie in your head. He keeps the pace quick, the chapters tight, and the focus on what his characters are willing to risk for the people they care about.

Today he splits his time between Kentucky and California, enjoying bourbon, ballgames, good cigars, and the chance to write full time. He often describes his job in simple terms: entertain the reader, keep the pages turning, and make it feel like time well spent. The growing community around his thrillers suggests he is doing exactly that.
