The result is part police procedural, part horror story, and part argument about what righteousness looks like when it has no mercy.

Archangel moves the action to London. A demon is loose in the city, while an archangel arrives with terrifying power of its own. The detectives return to a crisis involving biblical-scale signs, supernatural violence, and a threat that no normal police force can control.

The books are dark, but they are not distant. Kilworth uses the supernatural setup to put ordinary people in impossible situations, especially people who have already seen too much loss. The angels and demons are powerful, yet the series keeps returning to the question of what people owe one another when larger forces are treating them as expendable.
