A Tale of the Sazi (Cat Adams) Books in Order

A Tale of the Sazi is a shared-world shapeshifter series by C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp, whose work also appears under the Cat Adams name. Its big idea is simple: shapeshifters have always lived among humans, but they have built their own laws, councils, families, and ways of keeping that fact secret. The reality is much messier.

The Sazi include more than wolves. Cats, bears, birds, snakes, and other changers all have a place in the wider community, and their different instincts can become political problems. A local pack may want safety and independence, while a larger council is trying to preserve rules that protect the whole hidden population. When those goals clash, nobody gets an easy answer.

Start with Hunter's Moon.

The first book follows Tony Giodone, a Mafia hitman whose life changes after a violent attack leaves him turning into a wolf. Sue Quentin draws him into the Sazi world and becomes central to the opening story. Through them, readers learn the basics of transformation, mates, pack expectations, and the danger of entering a society that has already decided what someone like Tony ought to be.

From there, the novels open out instead of staying with a single couple. Moon's Web returns to Tony's world, while Captive Moon shifts attention to entertainer and council member Antoine Monier and tiger shifter Tahira Kuric. Howling Moon, Moon's Fury, Timeless Moon, Cold Moon Rising, and Serpent Moon keep moving through new corners of the same supernatural landscape. Each book brings in fresh leads, but earlier events and long-running tensions still matter.

The series likes active plots. There are kidnappings, hunters, murders, rival Sazi groups, psychic gifts, attacks on children, old betrayals, and threats that could expose the hidden world to humans. Romance is a major part of the books, but it grows in the middle of those bigger pressures. Partners often have to decide whether they can trust each other before they can even think about a future together.

Community is the real continuing character.

The settings range from cities and small towns to more isolated places where secrecy can either be a shield or a trap. The books take pack bonds seriously, but they also show their drawbacks. Loyalty can keep someone alive. It can also demand obedience, punish difference, or turn a private conflict into a public crisis.
