Series background & context
The 2B Trilogy is a set of contemporary new-adult romances about college-age friends, roommates, and the complicated leap from independence to lasting relationships. The books take place around the same apartment building and social circle, which gives them a warm, connected feel even as each novel focuses on a different couple.
I Want It That Way starts with Nadia, who moves into an apartment near college and meets the attractive, off-limits man next door. What looks like a simple crush becomes harder when family responsibilities and personal history get involved.
Growing up is rarely tidy.
As Long As You Love Me and The Shape of My Heart continue with other characters in the group. The stories deal with trust, financial strain, family expectations, friendship, and the question of whether love can fit into a life that is still being built.
The tone is emotional and contemporary rather than high-concept. Aguirre gives her characters real-world problems, including difficult relatives and uncertainty about the future, without losing sight of the fun of attraction and friendship. Returning characters make the setting feel lived in, but every book gives a new relationship room to take the lead.
Start with I Want It That Way, followed by As Long As You Love Me and The Shape of My Heart. The romances can stand on their own, but publication order gives the best payoff for the friendships and overlapping storylines.
