Series background & context

The Galactic Love books are science-fiction romances that treat alien cultures as genuinely alien while keeping the emotional question simple: can two people from very different worlds build a life together? The series starts with Strange Love, when human gardener Beryl Bowman is accidentally taken from Earth by Zylar, an alien who needs a partner for a dangerous mating competition.

Zylar is not a human man with a few cosmetic differences. His body, customs, language, and expectations are unfamiliar, and the book makes room for the awkwardness. Beryl is practical, funny, and unwilling to become a passive prize just because she is stranded far from home.

It gets weird in a good way.

Love Code shifts the focus to an artificial intelligence trying to understand what it means to have a body, independence, and feelings. Renegade Love continues the shared universe with another romance shaped by travel, danger, and the messy work of choosing a future.

The books are warm, inventive, and often humorous, but there are real stakes underneath the jokes. Characters face prejudice, isolation, political problems, and the fear that their differences might be too large to cross. Consent and communication matter a great deal in these romances.

Start with Strange Love, then read Love Code and Renegade Love. Each novel has a central couple, but the setting and some characters carry across the series. It is a good pick for readers who want alien romance with humor, tenderness, and plenty of unusual worldbuilding.
