Worldshapers Books in Order

The Worldshapers series follows Shawna Keys, a potter whose life seems settled and happy until a violent attack changes everything. A friend is killed, then somehow erased from everyone else's memory. Shawna is the only person who remembers. Soon she learns that her world is not quite what she thought it was, and that she has a power she never knew she possessed.

Shawna is a Shaper. She can unconsciously alter reality, and her version of Earth is one of many constructed worlds in a vast maze called the Labyrinth.

Karl Yatsar, a guarded stranger with knowledge of the Labyrinth, tells her that an enemy known as the Adversary is moving through these worlds. Shawna cannot undo what has happened at home, but she may be able to help protect other Shaped worlds. That means leaving everything familiar behind and following Karl through portals into places with their own rules, histories, and dangers.

The first book, Worldshaper, sets up Shawna's new reality and the uneasy partnership at the heart of the series. She is smart, frustrated, and understandably unsure whom to trust. Karl knows far more than he initially shares, while the larger conflict leads toward Ygrair, a mysterious figure at the Labyrinth's center. The tension comes not only from escape and pursuit, but from Shawna learning what her abilities can do and deciding how she wants to use them.

Each later book changes the scenery in a big way. Master of the World sends Shawna and Karl into a realm shaped by the adventures and inventions associated with Jules Verne. The Moonlit World takes them somewhere much darker, where vampires, werewolves, and humans have been driven into conflict beneath a moon that never moves. The series enjoys playing with familiar story ingredients while giving Shawna practical problems to solve.

The books are portal fantasy with a science-fiction frame. There are alternate worlds, hidden technology, strange beings, chase scenes, and plenty of questions about memory, identity, and free will. Shawna's ability to reshape a world makes every choice feel risky, because changing a thing is not the same as understanding it.

Start with Worldshaper. The main plot carries forward, and the relationship between Shawna and Karl gains weight as they travel deeper into the Labyrinth. Readers who like adventurous fantasy with reality-bending ideas, literary nods, and a grounded heroine will know quickly whether this is their kind of journey.
