World War Mars Books in Order

World War Mars starts with a deliciously dangerous premise. A derelict alien starship appears in the solar system and crash-lands on Mars. Everyone immediately understands what that means. Whoever reaches it first may control technology powerful enough to change the balance of power on Earth.

So naturally, this becomes a war story.

Tom Bradstreet, a Space Force general and the only officer with real space-combat experience, ends up commanding the Morrigan, the first manned mission to Mars and effectively the first true space warship. Meanwhile, rival powers on Earth are scrambling to get there by any means available. The first book gets a lot of mileage out of that race, because Partlow understands that political panic is often as dangerous as the alien mystery at the center.

The series does not stay a simple U.S. versus Russia versus China contest for long. Once Mars is in play, older alien histories, manufactured species, and deep-time enemies start reshaping the conflict. That gives the trilogy a nice arc from near-future geopolitical thriller into broader military space opera.
