With Love Trilogy Books in Order

The With Love Trilogy, originally published under the name Jules Wake, is built around three loosely connected romances that start with a journey and end with the characters rethinking what home means. Each book can be read on its own, but together they follow a small web of friends and siblings as they criss-cross Europe.

From Italy With Love begins with Laurie, a home-loving librarian whose life is tidy, predictable and safe. When she unexpectedly inherits a vintage Ferrari from her eccentric Uncle Miles, the will insists she must drive it across Europe to claim it. Her guide for the trip is Cameron Matthews, charming, frustrating and everything her steady boyfriend is not. The road trip forces Laurie out of her comfort zone, through tiny villages and sweeping mountain roads, and asks whether the future she had planned is really the one she wants.

In From Paris With Love This Christmas, the focus shifts to Siena, a glamorous Paris socialite fleeing both a bad engagement and a controlling fiancé. She hides out in her sister’s cottage in England and collides with Jason, a down-to-earth local who has little time for spoiled runaways. A whirlwind trip back to Paris over the holidays brings fairy lights, skating and family drama, but also a chance for Siena to prove she is more than the label people have stuck on her.

The final book, From Rome with Love, centres on Lisa Vettese, who travels to Rome on a deeply personal mission, to track down her estranged father. Thanks to a lodging mix-up she ends up sharing an apartment with Will Ryan, a childhood friend turned sworn enemy whose polished lifestyle hides a more complicated past. As Will helps Lisa navigate the city and her family history, their shared history shifts from rivalry to something warmer, set against Italian food, piazzas and long-buried secrets.

Across the trilogy you will find recurring themes, women learning to drive their own lives rather than sitting in the passenger seat, literal and metaphorical journeys, and a steady thread of humour. The tone is a little more standard contemporary romance than the later Romantic Escapes books, but you can see many of Caplin’s favourite ingredients forming here, vivid locations, complicated families and relationships that grow slowly over shared experiences instead of instant perfection.
