Winning Ace is where Tracie Delaney began, and it still feels like a good introduction to her style. The series starts in the world of professional tennis, but it is not really about match scores. It is about pressure, fame, private damage, and what happens when a fantasy crush turns into a very real mess.

The main arc follows Tally McKenzie and Cash Gallagher. Tally has spent years admiring the tennis superstar from afar, then suddenly finds herself pulled into his orbit through work. That setup gives the first book a fun jolt of wish-fulfillment energy, but Delaney does not leave it at that. Cash has secrets, Tally has instincts, and the romance quickly becomes more complicated than a simple fan-meets-celebrity story.

The trilogy needs to be read in order.

Winning Ace, Losing Game, and Grand Slam tell one continuing relationship story. The second book deals with fallout, fractured trust, and the strain fame places on something fragile. The third pushes both characters through healing, forgiveness, and one more round of upheaval before the series earns its ending. If you like romances where the couple has to actually work for the happy ending, this trilogy delivers that.

After the main arc, the world expands a little. Mismatch shifts focus to Rupe, Cash's rich, charming best friend, and adds a stronger mystery element when he wakes up beside a dead woman and needs help from a lawyer who wants nothing to do with him. Break Point returns to Cash and Tally's circle in novella form and shows that even after the big love story is won, life can still throw ugly surprises at good people.

What stands out about this series is how grounded it stays despite the glamorous backdrop. There are tournaments, travel, wealth, and celebrity attention, but the real emphasis is on insecurity, trust, injury, loss, and the awkward business of loving someone who is not always easy to love.

It also hints at the writer Delaney would become. You can already see her interest in alpha heroes who are not as invincible as they look, women who refuse to be passive, and plots that bring in just enough suspense or emotional shock to keep the romance under pressure.

If you want to see where her published career began, Winning Ace is the obvious place to start. It is sporty, emotional, and much more interested in what fame costs than in making stardom look effortless.
