Merry Christmas, Alaska keeps the Port Serenity setting but adds holiday energy, family ties, and an accident that forces two opposites to see each other differently.

The books are romantic, but they are not cut off from the natural world around them. Boats, storms, navigation contests, cliffs, ice, and rough water are not decoration.
