Series background & context

The Wicked Earls' Club sits inside Lauren Smith's larger Regency world, but it has its own flavor. These stories focus on titled men who know how to move through polite society and how quickly scandal can turn into danger. The heroines are not passive observers, either. They push back, keep secrets of their own, and make the earls work very hard for trust.

The tone is romantic and adventurous. You get wintry settings, stolen kisses, class tension, old enemies, and the usual Smith mix of social rules colliding with very inconvenient desire.

What makes this corner of the world fun is that these earls are not polished fairy tale princes. They are bruised, stubborn, sometimes secretive men who have to decide whether they want control more than they want love. The books also keep one foot in the wider rogue network, so there is a strong sense of friendship and shared history running underneath the romance.
