Turning Point (NR Walker) Books in Order

The Turning Point series combines romance, crime, and high personal stakes. It follows Los Angeles detective Matthew Elliott and boxing coach Kira Takeo Franco as their relationship becomes entangled with the dangerous parts of Matt’s work.

At the beginning of Point of No Return, Matt is a successful detective and a closeted gay man. Kira, known to Matt’s coworkers as Frankie, is the new coach at a gym. Their attraction is immediate, but Matt fears that being open about their relationship could threaten both their careers.

The danger is closer than either man thinks.

As the series continues, the consequences of Matt’s investigations and decisions become harder to contain. Breaking Point takes Matt into underground cage fighting as guilt and the need for justice begin to consume him. Starting Point looks toward the future, bringing new responsibilities and vulnerable young people into Matt and Kira’s lives.

These books are more suspenseful than many of Walker’s contemporaries. The romance remains central, but it is tested by secrets, violence, workplace pressure, and the cost of trying to protect others.

Start with Point of No Return. Matthew and Kira’s story is continuous, and the emotional as well as criminal plotlines are best followed in order.
