Author bio
TL Swan is an Australian contemporary romance author who turned a late‑night writing habit into a full‑time career. She’s best known for her addictive series about the Miles brothers, the Mr men, and the Stanton family, where high emotion and high heat share the page.
As a teenager she filled diaries with daydreams and love stories, long before she imagined they might be read by anyone else. Romance novels were her escape, and she carried that love of big feelings and happy endings into adult life, even while she was working ordinary jobs and raising three children.
For years, writing stayed in the background while she focused on keeping her family and a small business afloat.
In the early 2010s that business began to fail, leaving her family staring down serious debt and long hours. One day, cleaning out the garage, she found an old diary packed with stories she’d written at seventeen. The discovery sparked a simple thought: maybe those pages could be the start of something new.
With no spare money for software, she downloaded a free trial of a word processor, sat at the kitchen table after her kids were asleep, and began what would become Stanton Adore. Night after night she wrote into the early hours, treating the story as both therapy and a tiny, fragile chance to pay one overdue bill.
She self‑published that first book and slowly built a loyal readership. More Stanton novels followed, then Dr. Stanton, and soon readers were falling for her arrogant CEOs, complicated families, and heroes who don’t always behave well but fall hard when they finally do. Her breakout success led to international publishing deals and the hugely popular Miles High Club and Mr series.
Today her books have sold millions of copies and are translated into many languages, but she still talks about the work like a fan who can’t believe she gets to do this for a living.
Swan’s stories lean into escapist setups—billionaire brothers, grumpy judges, hostel meet‑cutes—but she grounds them in very human emotions. Her heroines are often smart, funny women juggling work, family and self‑doubt; her heroes are powerful men who learn, sometimes painfully, how to show up with honesty and care. Across standalones like Our Way, The Italian and Find Me Alastar, she returns to themes of second chances, chosen family, and the idea that love is rarely tidy but worth the mess.
In 2024 she founded Keeperton, a publishing venture aimed at helping digital romance authors reach bookstore shelves, a move that let her combine her business instincts with her loyalty to the indie community that first embraced her. She now lives on the south coast of New South Wales with her husband and their three children, writing the kind of emotional, steamy stories she once scribbled in secret, only now at a bigger kitchen table and for a global crowd of readers.
