Series background & context

Them Boys is one of Alexandria House's shortest series, but it does not feel slight. These novellas center on the Mitchell brothers, Set, Jah, and Shu, and each book drops into a high-heat connection that quickly turns emotional.

These men come in hot.

Set starts with a chance encounter and a mutually beneficial arrangement between Set and Kareema. Jah follows the youngest brother and Tricia into a relationship neither one planned for. Shu changes the rhythm just a little, giving the series one of its softest emotional cores as a wounded man is finally seen, cared for, and loved.

What links the books is not only family. The brothers share loyalty, rough edges, protective instincts, and the kind of past that leaves marks. House does not over-explain every bruise, but you can feel the history behind the way these men move. They love hard, react fast, and are not always great at sorting out what they feel before acting on it.

That makes the series direct in a way many readers love. The pacing is quick, the chemistry is immediate, and the emotional beats land fast. Because these are novellas, House wastes very little time. You are pulled straight into desire, conflict, and the question of whether these hardheaded men can accept the tenderness being offered to them.

There is humor here, but the main draw is the contrast between swagger and vulnerability. If you like shorter romances with strong personality, family ties, and a lot of heat packed into a small space, Them Boys delivers. Read in order for the best sense of the brothers as a unit and the way each story deepens what you understand about the others.
