The Wild Ones Books in Order

This is M Leighton in full Southern-romance mode. The Wild Ones series mixes ranch life, small-town history, family pressure, and very strong attraction. The books are connected, but each one centers on a different couple, which makes the series easy to move through while still feeling like you are staying inside the same circle of people.

The opening novel, The Wild Ones, follows Cami Hines and Patrick "Trick" Henley. Cami is the daughter of a prominent Thoroughbred breeder. Trick works on the ranch. Their romance starts with the basic problem that he is exactly the kind of man she is not supposed to want, then gets more complicated when secrets about why he is there begin to surface.

The novella Wild Child widens the world rather than slowing it down. Jenna Theopolis and Rusty Catron bring in more of the series' emotional DNA: characters who want out, characters who feel stuck, and the hard way love can get tangled up with loss before people are ready for it.

Some Like It Wild shifts to Laney Holt and Jake Theopolis, which gives the series one of its clearest good-girl and bad-boy setups. Then There's Wild, Then There's You moves into a louder, messier emotional space with Violet Wilson and rocker Jet Blevins. By that point, the series has expanded well beyond the ranch without losing the Southern feel that anchors it.

What links all the books is the push and pull between freedom and belonging. A lot of these characters think leaving is the answer, or that they have already messed up too much to stay. The romances keep pulling them back into relationship, place, and family, sometimes against their better judgment.

If you want connected contemporary romance with horses, heat, music, old wounds, and a strong sense of hometown gravity, this series is a very easy recommendation. Read it in order if you can, because the friendships and family ties add a lot to each new couple.
