The Whipping Society is Delilah Marvelle’s darkest historical romance series. It begins in London in 1830 and follows Evan Oswald Ridley, better known as Mr. Ridley, a formidable investigator whose work brings him into contact with crimes, corruption, and people society would rather ignore.

Then he meets Jemdanee Kumar.

This is historical romance with a strong suspense thread and mature sexual content, including consensual power-exchange themes. It is best read in order. The books build on earlier emotional turns, recurring threats, and the slow work of two very different people learning whether love can make room for both darkness and choice.
