The Wall Men Books in Order

This trilogy begins with a house, a warning, and a locked bedroom door that should stay locked. Lake returns to her grandmother's estate after a death in the family and inherits a set of rules that sound insane, right up until the old house starts proving they are real. On the other side of the wall is a darker world filled with monsters, vampires, demons, and the men sworn to keep them contained.

From there, the series grows quickly. What starts almost like haunted-house horror opens into dark fantasy romance with high stakes for both worlds. The Wall Men are not gentle guardians. They are huge, frightening, and tied to vows that make love just as dangerous as the monsters outside the wall. By A Vow Broken and A Vow Kept, Lake is dealing with marriage, war, betrayal, and the cost of promises made under impossible pressure.

This series is darker than most of Pamfiloff's paranormal work.

It still has romance, but the atmosphere matters just as much. If you want creepy houses, ancient rules, giant warlords, and a heroine who keeps getting pushed past the point where fear is useful, the Wall Men books are a strong fit.
