The murder of a military officer threatens fragile cooperation among the Allies, and Mary must investigate with Mr. Withrow, a fellow spy whose methods and position often put them at odds.

These are mysteries with movement. Expect country houses, London gatherings, coded loyalties, political tension, and travel across a Europe on the edge of war. The series keeps its focus on Mary’s point of view, balancing danger with the small social rules she has to navigate in order to do her work.
