The Precinct: Cold Case Books in Order

Cold Case takes the Precinct world and slows the investigation just enough to let old secrets do real damage. These books are built around murders that were never properly solved, evidence that should have stayed buried, and the emotional cost of reopening the past.

That makes the tone a little different from some of Julie Miller's more immediate rescue stories. The danger is still present, but it often comes from what people have been hiding for years. The trilogy works well because Miller keeps the stakes personal. The romance grows alongside the investigation, but the real hook is the sense that the past is still active and still dangerous.
