The Fall of Troy

by Dr Rebecca Sharp

2019

After switching her major from science to art, Troian Milanovic hopes a new school will mean a clean break from betrayal. Instead, she crashes headlong into Léo Baudin, her caustic, captivating art professor whose critiques sting as much as his gaze burns. Their forbidden attraction becomes a war neither of them is sure they can win.

Series background & context

The Odyssey Duet is a two-book love story that starts in a Rhode Island classroom and ends under Parisian skies. It follows Troian Milanovic, a brilliant but bruised young woman trying to outrun her past, and Léo Baudin, the enigmatic art professor whose life is more complicated than any of his lectures suggest. Their relationship is combustible, forbidden, and woven through with references to myth and history.

In The Fall of Troy, Troian arrives at a new university hoping for a clean slate. She switches her major from science to art, determined to leave the betrayals and family scandals she left behind where they belong. That intention lasts until the first day she walks into Léo’s class. He is cold, sharp, and infuriating, and he sees far more than she is comfortable revealing. The more he pushes her artistically, the more their mutual loathing curls into something dangerous and electric.

By The Judgment of Paris, the boundaries they kept breaking in secret are blown wide open. The second book picks up as Troian resolves to be done with Léo and with Paris itself, only to find that the city – and his past – are not finished with her. Gossip, old secrets, and very real threats follow them both, forcing hard choices between power, reputation, and the stubborn pull of their connection. The title is not just a mythological nod; judgment, in every sense, becomes the question.

Across both novels, the duet format gives their story room to breathe. Secondary characters, family dynamics, and the art world they inhabit all get time on the page. The books tackle themes of obsession, self-worth, and how much of yourself you are willing to risk for someone who has already hurt you. If you like forbidden academia romances with lush settings and characters who have to earn their happy ending the hard way, The Odyssey Duet is designed for that slow, immersive fall.
