The Nephilim Books in Order

The Nephilim series takes angel lore and gives it a practical, almost urban fantasy edge. In Bell's version of the world, the children of angels are not distant legends. They are living in cells, working jobs, hiding what they are, and fighting an old split that never really healed. On one side are the Nephilim. On the other are the Shemyaza. Both come from the same roots, but they chose very different paths.

That split drives everything.

The books follow different couples as ordinary lives crash into that hidden war. All for You brings in Abby Marcheson and Seth, a winged protector who is trying to keep both his secrets and his feelings under control. The Fire Within shifts to detective Dante Zucco and private investigator Beth Rand, with a murder case tying the romance directly to the supernatural conflict. Speak Thy Name follows Damien and Samantha, and by that point the series is deep into questions of trust, mistaken judgment, and what it costs to bring someone into a dangerous world.

One thing Bell does well here is make the mythology feel lived in rather than decorative. The glossary and the books themselves sketch out a whole structure of angel born powers, local cells, internal laws, and long memories. Some characters have wings. Some wield fire. Some change shape. Some see the future. That gives the series a wider range than a single-species paranormal romance, but Bell keeps the focus close enough that it never turns into pure lore dumping.

The tone is a little more serious than some of her shifter series. There is still heat and banter, but the danger lands differently when the villains are feeding on people, stalking them, or trying to recruit them. A lot of the tension comes from the fact that human partners are not entering a quirky magical town or a flirty fae court. They are stepping into a war with old rules, sharp consequences, and enemies who know exactly how to use fear.

At the same time, the heart of the series is still Bell's favorite subject, chosen family. These characters are often surrounded by teams, siblings, allies, and leaders who act like a rough-edged support system. People argue. They keep secrets. They overprotect. But they show up.

If you want paranormal romance with angel blood, secret wars, and a stronger action thread running through the love story, The Nephilim is one of Bell's clearest examples of that blend.
