The Mitchells of Riverview Inn Books in Order

The Mitchells of Riverview Inn is one of Molly O'Keefe's earlier family-centered series, and you can already see many of the things she would keep doing well later on: second chances, complicated relatives, hard-won tenderness, and a setting that gives people a place to gather and fall apart. Here, that setting is the family inn.

The books focus on the Mitchells and the people pulled into their orbit. Baby Makes Three starts with Alice and Gabe, an ex-married couple forced back together when the inn needs a chef and both of them need a fresh start more than they want to admit. A Man Worth Keeping shifts to another corner of the inn and brings in outside danger, with a woman and her daughter seeking safety and a wounded former cop who cannot quite keep his distance.

By the time you reach Worth Fighting For, the series has settled into its main rhythm. The inn is a workplace, a refuge, and a pressure cooker all at once. Family members want different things from it, guests bring their own complications, and nobody gets to hide for long.

That is part of the charm.

These books feel a little cozier than some of O'Keefe's later work, but they are not fluff. Infertility, divorce, abuse, guilt, and financial strain all show up. What keeps the series warm is the way the inn offers a possible home, even for people who arrive convinced they have ruined their lives.

If you like family-business romance with strong emotional stakes and a sheltering sense of place, this is a solid series to start with. It also connects nicely to the later Riverview Inn books, which revisit and expand this world in a newer format.
