Boys of Bishop Books in Order

The Boys of Bishop series is set in Bishop, Arkansas, a small town that feels worn down, watchful, and full of long memories. Molly O'Keefe uses that setting well. Bishop is not just a backdrop for four romances. It is the thing all these characters are pushing against, running from, or trying to save.

The first book, Wild Child, brings Monica Appleby back to town after years in the public eye as a notorious former reality star. Waiting for her is Jackson Davies, the mayor who badly needs Bishop to look wholesome and stable if the town is going to survive. Their clash sets up one of the series' big ideas: public reputation and private truth are rarely the same thing.

From there the series widens. Never Been Kissed brings Ashley Montgomery and Brody Baxter together after Ashley survives a kidnapping and Brody brings her back to Bishop to heal. Between the Sheets follows a rough-edged father trying to do right by the son he barely knew he had, while the boy's teacher becomes impossible for him to ignore. Indecent Proposal moves into politics, class, and image, pairing a polished golden boy with a woman who does not fit the life planned for him.

That is what makes the series work. Every couple has chemistry, but the books are also about family expectation, old grief, addiction, bad choices, money trouble, and the strange pain of coming home. O'Keefe likes characters who have already lived a little too hard, and Bishop gives her room to show the consequences.

The tone is sexy and emotional, but also surprisingly tender. These are not neat, easy romances. The heroes tend to be damaged. The heroines usually know more than people give them credit for. Across the series you get mayors, bodyguards, bikers, teachers, and political families, but the common thread is healing. Not perfect healing, either. Just enough honesty for two people to build something real.

If you want interconnected small-town romance with heat, heart, and a little grit under the nails, this is one of O'Keefe's best-known worlds.
