Series background & context

The Killers Next Generation shifts the spotlight to the kids of Brynne Asher's original crew. These stories lean younger, with high school and early career settings, but the stakes are still life and death, and the protective parents from the main series are never far away.

In Levi, a teenage girl is uprooted and sent to live with a cold, controlling grandmother in Virginia after scandal rocks her family. At her new school she meets Levi Hollingsworth, a brooding golden boy with a reputation he does not want and connections far more dangerous than football and popularity. Tasked with tutoring her in chemistry, Levi ends up pulling her into a tangle of dirty politics, unsolved crimes, and first love that feels anything but simple.

The Playbook of Emma follows Emerson Hollingsworth, the grown daughter of one of the original Killers heroes and a rising star in sports broadcasting. After a memorable post game interview, she collides in Las Vegas with Jack Hale, her brother's best friend and long time crush who is now a high powered sports agent. One perfect night turns into a nightmare when his famous client is swallowed by scandal, and Emma's sudden fame makes her a target in the fallout.

Old allies and a shadowy organization from earlier books step in to help, but the younger generation has to make their own choices about loyalty, love, and the kind of lives they want to build. The tone stays bantery and romantic, with plenty of cameos from the original Killers, but the focus is firmly on what it means to grow up in the long shadow of lethal parents.
