Quick-Draw Cowboy and Fearless Gunfighter widen the circle. One centers on pastry chef Dani Boatman as she tries to build a safe life for her orphaned niece while someone with a grudge closes in. Another sends rodeo rider Tucker Lawrence and FBI agent Sydney Maxwell into the Texas Hill Country in pursuit of a serial killer. The books move quickly, but Wayne never forgets the emotional cost of what her characters have survived.
