Series background & context
The G.D. Taylors is one of the looser, funnier corners of Laura Pavlov's catalog. Co-written with Willow Aster, the series follows a wealthy, loud, deeply involved family where everybody has opinions, nobody minds their business, and falling in love is never simple.
Each book works on its own, but the real fun comes from the group dynamic. The Taylor siblings and the people around them are rich, stubborn, attractive, and usually one impulsive choice away from making their lives much messier. A runaway groom kicks things off in Wanted Wed Or Alive, and from there the books keep leaning into fake relationships, friends-to-lovers tension, off-limits attraction, and the kind of family meddling that somehow makes everything worse and better.
The setting has a glossy city feel, especially early on, but the heart of the series is not the money. It is the family chaos. These characters tease hard, protect hard, and show up whether anyone asked them to or not. That gives the books a found-family warmth underneath all the flirting and snark.
Tone is a big part of the appeal. These romances are funny, spicy, and a little over the top in the best way, but they still leave room for real vulnerability. The heroes can be cocky, the heroines are rarely impressed for long, and that push and pull gives the books their spark.
If you like interconnected contemporary romance with strong banter, big personalities, and a cast you want to keep revisiting, this is an easy series to settle into.
