Series background & context

Cottonwood Cove is Pavlov's beach-town series, and the coastal setting does a lot of work. These books feel sunlit, summery, and a little more escape-driven than some of her mountain or sports-focused worlds, but the emotional stakes stay familiar, off-limits attraction, old feelings, forced proximity, and people pretending they are more in control than they really are.

Each book stands alone while building out the town. Into the Tide opens with best friend's little sister tension. Under the Stars brings in a grumpy boss and sunshine assistant. On the Shore mixes an NFL star with a reporter who cannot stand him. Before the Sunset turns best friends and fake dating into trouble. After the Storm closes the run with a grumpy single dad and the one who got away.

That mix gives the series variety, but the shared feel is consistent. Cottonwood Cove is where people land when they need a reset, a break, or a hard look at feelings they have been dodging. The beach setting makes everything feel open and breezy, even when the emotional knots are tight.

The tone is easy to slide into. There is charm, chemistry, and plenty of crossover from book to book, but Pavlov still makes room for heartache and tenderness.

If you like coastal small-town romance with strong tropes and a relaxed vacation atmosphere, Cottonwood Cove delivers exactly that.
