Series background & context

The Final Dance is Christie Golden's original fantasy sequence, set in a world where elemental power is carried by people known as Dancers. The books follow characters whose identities and choices become tied to the survival of the whole world.

On Fire's Wings introduces Kevla Bai-sha, a young woman born without status in Arukan. Her visions and connection to long-forgotten dragons point toward a threat that her country has not fully understood. With the rebel prince Jashemi-kha-Tahmu, she begins a dangerous search for the elemental forces that may save their land.

Kevla is not looking for a quiet life anymore.

In In Stone's Clasp, Kevla searches for the remaining elemental Dancers and finds Jareth, whose command of earth magic is tangled up with anger and loss. The journey moves into an unnatural winter, where old gods, betrayal, and vengeance make it difficult for the group to work together.

Under Sea's Shadow shifts attention to Copper, the Sea Dancer, a young woman returned to her mother's island kingdom after being taken at birth. She has power but feels incomplete, and the need to unite the Dancers becomes urgent as political schemes and elemental danger gather.

Expect quest fantasy with dragons, magical companions, royal conflict, and a cast of young people being asked to take on roles they did not choose. Start with On Fire's Wings and continue in order.
