The Fearless Books in Order

The Fearless is Terry Maggert in a darker, wilder mood. The series follows Ring Hardigan and his partners, Waleska and Risa, a trio who hunt immortals and other things that should have stayed dead. At first glance, that sounds like familiar urban fantasy territory, but these books are rougher around the edges and more interested in lust, rot, old myth, and the ugly side of survival than in tidy monster-of-the-week comfort.

Ring and his crew are not tidy, either.

They live in South Florida, move through a world crowded with vampires, warlocks, succubae, and assorted undead trouble, and make their living by putting dangerous immortals down for good. Their partnership is part romance, part working team, part survival pact, and that unstable blend gives the books a lot of their pulse. When The Forest Bull begins, they already know how to kill monsters. What they do not know is how quickly one bad encounter can pull them toward older evils, European family secrets, and forces that seem to have business with hell itself.

The series likes motion. One of the things Maggert does well here is make the supernatural world feel both mobile and dirty. These are not elegant vampire courts and polished occult clubs. The danger comes from back roads, hidden bloodlines, old bargains, and places that feel damp, feral, or a little cursed. Even the short prequel, Call of Shadows, works that way. It takes something as ordinary as a roadside memorial and turns it into a baited hook.

There is a lot of appetite in these books, for blood, for power, for sex, for revenge, and that gives the tone its own identity. But underneath the grime and menace, the stories are still about loyalty. Ring, Waleska, and Risa keep moving because they are bound to one another as much as to the work.
