Series background & context
The Chaos Crew is a four-book dark contemporary romance series about a woman who has spent her life killing for survival and the four hitmen who unexpectedly become her allies. It begins with Killer Beauty, after a bloodbath and car crash leave the heroine in the hands of men who say they are keeping her safe. She has every reason to doubt them. She is used to being the person no one sees coming, and she has her own revenge to pursue.
The problem is that the Chaos Crew isn't made up of ordinary captors. The men are skilled, armed, and willing to work outside the law, but they are also tangled up in the danger surrounding her. As she pushes against their control and looks for a route back to independence, the group has to decide whether they are enemies, temporary partners, or something much more complicated.
The series runs on questions of identity and trust. In Killer Lies, the heroine learns that much of what she believed about her past may be false, while attacks from unknown enemies make working with the crew harder to avoid. Killer Heart brings her closer to the family she was taken from and forces her to consider whether there is any place for an assassin in their lives. The danger keeps widening as old secrets surface.
Nothing stays simple for long.
By Killer Reign, the central fight is no longer just about escape. The heroine and her crew are up against a powerful crime lord whose influence reaches well beyond their small group. The books combine action, conspiracies, and an ongoing romance involving all four men, so they work best read in order rather than as standalones.
The setting is part of Eva Chance's Devil's Dozen world, a contemporary criminal underworld run by elite syndicate leaders. This series has its own complete storyline, though readers may spot small links to the author's other connected series. The mood is tense, violent, and emotionally messy, with plenty of scenes built around shifting loyalties and characters trying to decide who deserves their faith.
At its center, though, this is a story about a woman learning that survival does not have to mean facing every threat alone. The crew may have brought danger into her life, but they also give her the first real chance to uncover who she is and choose what comes next.
